Damn, no dams
Water NSW’s newly releases 20 year plan rules out new dams.
With large parts of the state currently experiencing drought, the future of water resources is a hot topic for residents.
Water NSW found astronomical costs ruled any new dams out.
“We have been crunching the numbers and done the modelling to try and predict where the people will be living and what irrigation industries will look like in the next few decades,” said Tony Webber from Water NSW.
Instead water saving measures such as more effective piping, channels, and mid-river storage points are being prioritised.
